The NBNK story so far

With all the ups and downs in banking – in the UK and across the world – many of the major banks have lost focus on the most important aspect of their businesses: you, the customer.
That is why NBNK was established in August 2010. Its aim – to create a bank that will make the people it serves the focus of everything it does.
NBNK has focused and will continue to focus on UK banking only, initially just in retail and small business banking. Over time, we may expand into wealth management.
Gary Hoffman, our CEO, exemplifies NBNK’s desire to take on the great challenges ahead. In 2008, he took on one of the toughest jobs in UK banking when he joined the troubled Northern Rock as Chief Executive. He was responsible for its rescue, stabilisation and restructuring.
Our team is made up of people who are passionate about delivering a great service to customers. With many years of experience from across financial services they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to NBNK. Hear what some of our key people have to say about their involvement in NBNK here.
